  • My Etsy Store

I never seem to blog any more, but I do check back to xanga often.  I don't like how xanga got all wacko with their blogging communities like...  the mamaroo and whatever else they have.  It seems that if you leave them a comment, but get bombarded with invites and people with really intense view points.  Maybe I am too grumpy, but that's what I think.

    Anywaysss...

I wanted to post because I opened up my very own Etsy shop called : Lalka Designs
    http://www.etsy.com/shop/LalkaDesigns

So far I have really enjoyed putting my stuff out there, and if you know of anyone who may be interested please do share.  Thanks!!

    Have a great holiday season.

  • ...

Man, I haven't written something on here in a longgg time.  I do visit xanga often and check in on my favorite blogs about once a week.  Instead of writing though I guess I just have become a facebook whore and use that as a means to update and whatever.

So much has happened since March...

Um,  well I've been working now for 6 months in my nursing job.  I love my schedule now and feel better at my job everyday.

We got married!  June 28th we had our wedding on a cliff over looing the beach in La Jolla, Ca with 30 close friends and family.  It was an amazing day.  I wish we could have a party like that once a month.

    Lost my mailbox key.

Been cooking a lot this summer on our new BBQ.

Cut my hair short after the wedding.  Woo!

I am still trying to find a balance of being nice and being too uptight.  I get too hardcore sometimes and need to learn to treat my husband better when I get stressed.  You know, cause he's like the perfect target for my fustrations haha.

Our cat is still being a cat.

Enjoying the summer sunshine while we have it.

... and that's probably about it for now.  Peace!

  • WORK... a JOB

I have started working as a registered nurse this year!  I work on a very very busy floor in a great hospital. It has been a whirl of information and learning.  I really do love my job (it helps that the people I work with are normal and nice).  My body also has gotten use to the brunt of 12 hour shifts, and waking up at 5am and returning home at 9pm if I'm lucky.

I've had many interesting experiences and met lots of different patients so far.  Just fresh from yesterday was a patient who was pretty grouchy.  He sorta complained instead of asked for things.  He also gave me a lot of grief about his medications and our care for him.  Then the last 5 minutes of the shift I went in his room to replace a skin dressing on a long cut he had suffered due to a fall trying to plug his scooter in.  Before I could start he said, "I was sitting here thinking how lucky your fiance is to have you."  I was s t u n n e d.  Really? Really? After all day of making our nurse patient relationship difficult, you're now going to be nice? Haha.  I told him how sweet it was of him to say that and thanked him.  I cleaned up his dressing and told him I'd see him Friday if he was still there.  Crazy huh.

I am sending out wedding invitations TODAY! YO! I will post a picture of the whole ordeal because I am very proud of them.  I did them myself opposed to spending the $500 bucks to have someone else do it.  WOoHoO!

  • i have begun

FIRST OF ALL... HOORAY for me!! I am a registered nurse.

so lately things have been no joke around here.  i seriously had a lot on my plate.  there was an incredible about of stress when studying for my nursing license.  i have had to juggle a lot of different roles and plan my days to the minute to accomplish anything.  that sort of lifestyle can quickly run anyone down.  it's no wonder that during this holiday break i have slept in till noon everyday.

now that i have that exam out of my hair i am focusing head strong on finding a  j  o  b.  there are tons of jobs out there for nurses, but as a new graduate i need a hospital setting to get my skills sharp.  new graduate internship programs are competitive.

aside from all that unfun stuff... i can now focus on our wedding! it's not till june, but i have little actually planned.  i have the reception location set and the ceremony site.  we have a rough sketch of the guest list and have our photographers and DJ booked.  sounds good, but i feel that the little details that make a wedding personal are still all untouched.  we're having a small small wedding, so i don't think it will be too hard to make things intimate.

first on the list... try to relearn some photoshop skills and create our own wedding invitations.
and make a serious guest list and send out invitations this january.

    2009 goals:

    volunteer
    save money!
get my face lasered -- (fraxel)
whiten my teeth with those strips
    change my car tires
work out and get some muscle mass!
join a badminton team (HECK YES!)
    organize the closet
buy a good fitting pair of jeans
    italian honeymoon
    have a job i love
have many long great conversations over dinner with the fiance
learn some more go to recipes

and uh... there's a lot more.  will add as i think of them.

    Merry Christmas!

About Me

  • I talk with my hands a lot. This may be one reason why my left wrist makes a cracking noise at this prime age of mine. I am a very nice person and bore easily by people who act too mature. Currently I'm in an accelerated nursing program that rocks my socks. I love the friendships and the wildness that has come my way with this opportunity. At the end of the day my place is inside the heart of my fiancé - my soul mate. This is where I like to sleep at night.
